The Foundation Wrote. We have just announced the 2022 cohort of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme, and for the first time ever, our selection announcement was held outside of Nigeria, in the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kinshasa. Back in 2015, when we set out to empower 10,000 African entrepreneurs over 10 years, through our founder, Mr. Tony O. Elumelu’s USD$100million family commitment. We never expected that after only 7 cycles of our entrepreneurship programme, we would have catalysed a global movement to democratize luck and economic hope across Africa. It is my pleasure to announce that today, we have disbursed over USD$85million to over 18,000 African entrepreneurs, as a part of our commitment to unlock prosperity in our continent through jobs creation, poverty alleviation and women inclusion. These young women and men, through their innovation and creativity, are creating jobs and wealth, ultimately transforming Africa - one community at a t

Getting your dream tech job is as simple as reading all the way to the end of this short article.

Image
If I were to join a new tech company today, I'd most likely begin with the Sales & Marketing team and work in any of these roles : 1. Copywriting 2.Marketing management 3. Product Promotion 4. Creative/Brand 5. Demand and Operations 6. Digital Marketing 🔥 This is not only because I have seen the fat pay cheques that these roles can bring you if you know your onions, and it definitely is the life wire of ANY company in the world. This is the department that brings in the mints and coins into the vault. Some other reasons that might make my entry easier and necessary would be because I have garnered on-the-job experience as a : Copywriter Product Manager Marketing Manager Sales guy Operations Guy Customer service CEO (Chief Everything Officer) 😅 Etc... Name it!!! For my start-up, small start-ups, and some close friends' start-ups that I've assisted with sales or content ideas. And I've seen traction. It will be easier for me to say, "This i

How my brain became a product that makes money

Image
The moment I realized I was both super smart, multi talented, ambitious and at the risk of the career confusion that special people like me face,  I ported from trying to get a corporate job to Learning digital skills to compliment my talent. - I turned my brain into the product. - I learn hard digital skills and simplify them in a way that "too busy" people or slow learners can understand at a glance - I test out these skills by "securing a job with it" or "making at least a $1000" through it to validate it. - Then I build a simple course around it to help these busy people get skills, as well as teach them how to get a job or make money with these skills. This is why DEXA exists.  Since I started towing this part, I've not had reasons to search for a job.  And I've probably had more job offers than most people searching for jobs. I'm more focused on building a global Unicorn out of my brain. Your brain is a gold mine. If you're like me

Why being a Jack of all Trades is important

Image
"Jack of all Trades, Master of none" Was an incomplete statement invented by a lazy man to cause friction in your mind and limit you in the things you can achieve as a human operating your highest potential. This singular statement has made a lot of people niche themselves down to poverty and mental inability, or something we call "Learned helplessness in Psychology". You need to stretch yourself the heck out. Explore your capabilities, run different businesses, learn different skills. Speak different languages. Work in different sectors and industries. Just stretch your mind. That is the only way you get better and discover your true self. This so-called jack of all trades was actually our decades old hero, William Shakespeare. The complete phrase is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” This was a compliment, not an advise to limit yourself or an insult to curb your impulsive obsession to become badass a

I could have so much money, but I didn't make upto $100 from my first blog. Here's why - Mr Awesome

Image
My first hustle was blogging.   If you were at Imo State University when I was a student, you would have probably heard about my blog. I received an email yesterday informing me that my domain name registration, which I had kept since around 2017, had just expired, and I smiled.   I renew it every year and the last time I did was last year. I'm considering letting it go this year, as it hasn't been functional.   My last publication on that blog was in 2020. mrawesomesblog.com   I loved blogging so much, but when I entered the space, the market and my niche, saturation was just one of the problems I faced.   I wanted to do relationship and trend blogging.   I didn't succeed in blogging when I began because I had a passion to write but "limited knowledge" of the technology that made bloggers successful.   I just knew how to blog and how to do some tech-savvy things. not how to market it to a wider audience.    I didn't know where to go to find mentorship on tha

While we were absent minded, a virus has eaten deep into Crypto and will soon take all your money

Image
"While we were absent minded, a virus has eaten deep into Crypto and will soon take all your money. If you're investing, take 1 minute to read this". One of the most terrible things happening to a lot of new crypto projects is that the developers invest more in hiring a product designer than business developers who actually develope the solutions & an actual product. While this may go unnoticed for the newbies & quick money bag chasers in Crypto, those of us building busineses and solutions around this industry cringe at this year-long practices. At this point, anyone who is going to exert mastery of this industry and the financial markets must first learn to be disciplined enough to understand that graphics, UI & UX designs are part of a project's success, but will not and cannot stand the taste of time. If UI was so important, Nairaland will be long gone by now and Eskimi & 2go would have been the leading social media too. Good things are good to l

Brand storytelling made easy in just 7 steps with illustrations. Up your game now!

Image
Without any doubts, everyone who knows business understands that the most relevant skill in marketing is Storytelling. Global phenomenal business brands like Apple and Nike are experts when it comes to storytelling. However, majority of other businesses are missing out on this secret recipe that sets your marketing on a whole new level. Majority of the available brand stories often take the same kind of structure: They talk about a *character* who seeks after something and then come across a *problem* along the line. Out of the blues, help comes.  A *guide* walks in to their problem space and gives them a *plan* and afterwards *calls them to action*. Taking the recommended action then enables them to not encounter *failure*, and then it finally results in *success*. Happy ever after. To make this more understandable and simplified, We can actually break the art of storytelling into fragments of 7 essential items: 1. A main character 2. Their existing problem 3. The good guide 4. The ul

How to make massive sales from your social media ads in 3 easy steps | Mr Awesome

Image
Your social media marketing and advert is not making sales because you're trying to sell. This is what you should do instead, in this exact order. In this article, I'm going to show you things to do in order to run an effective marketing and advert on the digital space. Most times, most small business owners get frustrated when they spend so much money on adverts and end up not getting a good result from their marketing campaign. A lot of them feel down. Some give up on that product, others just keep trying without switching to a strategy that works. I don't know which category you fall into, but if you share in any of those feelings, then I sure do know there's something you're not doing right. It's definitely not your sales copy or graphic designs, which are often the first things that cross your mind when you think of digital marketing or social media advertising. The problem here is that you're trying too hard and too obviously to sell. Your ad copy scre

Elon Musk offers to buy Twitter for $41 bn at $54.20 per share Just days ago, Musk had rejected an offer to join the social media company's board – a move that would have impeded a possible takeover bid. New Delhi: SpaceX chief and billionaire investor Elon Musk has offered to buy Twitter for nearly $41 billion. Just days ago, Musk had rejected an offer to join the social media company’s board – a move that would have impeded a possible takeover bid. Musk’s offer price of $54.20 per share was disclosed in a regulatory filing on Thursday, news agency Reuters reported. “The price represents a 38 per cent premium to Twitter’s 1 April close, the last trading day before the Tesla CEO’s more than 9 per cent stake in the company was made public,” the report said. “Since making my investment I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company,” Musk said in a letter to Twitter Chairman Br

I booked a Highlander Jeep to Speak at a seminar, no body showed up. See how I reacted

Image
Ordinarily, I wouldn't want to waste a muscle on this, but let's talk about it. I feel bored. 😁. A couple of a few weeks ago, I was invited to give a lecture at a young people's business seminar, held somewhere in Nigeria, West Africa. I was given a time to come up on stage to speak, so I arrived the venue in a Highlander Jeep, just about 5minutes before my speech time.  (Werey! 🙄. Yes I had to include the Highlander Jeep part. We all deserve pampering, don't we😅😂). Anyway, it was an Uber Highlander Jeep I booked (For a deliberate purpose) oya drop the blood pressure. We still trek together 😅😅😂. Happy? So... On getting to the venue, the proposed seminar hall was still locked. What? Ah! 🙆‍♀️. I called this guy who have been disturbing me and telling me how they need me to give a lecture at the Seminar and how they anticipate a great impact after my speech.  Apparently, someone had talked so highly of me to them. Ok oh! Oga said he was on his way and asked someone

Work from Home Business Ideas anyone can do and Make over $2000.

What can you teach? 🤔  If you can find a skill or knowledge set that people are really interested in learning, and set the price at an affordable rate, let's say $50 (₦25,000). Advertise it on your page and pay facebook to boost the advert for some targetted larger audience to see it. You can spend just $4 (₦2k) to get your advert to over 6,000 people on facebook if you know how to utilize facebook ads. So let's say just 50 people register to learn that your skill or knowledge set with that amount, you'll be making about $2500 (₦1,250,000). Would you do that? There are many skills you can learn and teach.  Some hot topics are  Forex,  Crypto Trading,  Affiliate marketing, Stock Exchange,  Niche Blogging,  Cooking,  Baking,  Youtube, Digital marketing Copywriting  etc.. Just keep the price low and target a large numbers of people. Meanwhile you can learn some of those skills on Digital Exchange Academy. https://dexa.disha.page
